OSD Linux Developer (Experience Level – 4- 8 Years)

Job description

Open Source Desktop (OSD) is an enterprise-adjusted Ubuntu-based distribution for Clients associates with more than 5000 users. It ensures compliance, security and enterprise-related functionalities (e.g. integration into Active Directory or infrastructure), while also being a developer-focused environment (e.g. pre-installed & pre-configured IDEs or configuration management via Ansible). In order to sustain a fast and qualitative development progress, we are searching a Linux developer, who understands state-of-the-art Linux development and is able to drive the project. As a core developer, he / she would develop & lead solutions together with the global team.

About the role

Required technical skills: High level scripting language-->Perl, Python, Ruby, Bash-->Very experienced (>=5 years) Deep Linux (Ubuntu) knowledge--> Very experienced (>= 5 years) Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS, etc. - Kernel - File systems - Device drivers - Networking (see below) - Security - User interface - Daemons, cron-jobs, etc., Virtualization -->Docker, VMware, etc. -->Experienced (>=2 years) Continuous Integration / Delivery -->Jenkins, Microsoft Team Foundation Server --> Experienced (>=2 years) Debian packaging knowledge-->Creation, maintaining, patching, publishing of Debian packages-->Basic Networking -->SSH, DNS, Proxy, TCP/IP, DMZ, Enterprise Networking ->Experienced(>=2 years) Agile Methodology -->SCRUM, XP, etc -->Experienced (>= 2 years) Git knowledge --> Experienced >= 2 years
